Helly Hansen Base Layer Review
By using a clothing layering system which can be adapted to the conditions, all day comfort when in the hills can be easily found.
A good layering system is: a base-layer, followed by a layer of insulation(s) and then a shell. For example, in the summer you wear just a base-layer;as it gets colder you could add a fleece; if it starts to rain (you must be in the Lakes...) you add your waterproof jacket; when you’re working hard to get up hill, take the fleece off ( more information on what to wear in the hills).
Helly Hansen call this Lifa® Stay Dry Technology™. By keeping dry at skin level, you will keep much warmer and comfortable. Added to this is: stretch for ease of movement, odour resistance, easy care, quick drying and various designs to allow for individual preference, and you’ve got a fantastic garment.
