Trail Guides: Durham Walker 2 - The Barningham Trail
The hills and moors of the southern slopes of Teesdale, often overlooked by walkers who head over the hill to the more popular slopes of Swaledale or further west to the wilderness of Upper Teesdale. But look more closely and youíll find an area that in itís own way will rival either of these two spots.
This 24 mile walk zig-zags itís way over Barningham Moor then climbs over the watershed to enter the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A long climb back up and over brings you to the delights of the Stang Forest before returning back to Barningham.
