National Navigation Award

What is the National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS).
About the NNAS: The National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) is about personal performance, its a non-competitive, incentive scheme for all ages to learn navigation skills and gain confidence to get out and enjoy the countryside.

The National Navigation Award Scheme is a progressive personal performance programme, which means its all about you and you can progress as far as you like.

The Bronze Navigator Award: On completion of the Bronze award, participants will be able to plan and safely follow walks in the countryside, primarily on paths and tracks, through a sound understanding of map features and route planning.
The Silver Navigator Award: On completion of the Silver award, participants will be able to safely plan and follow a route with some sections away from paths and tracks through a more detailed understanding of map features and through the use of accurate compass bearings.

The Gold Navigator Award: On completion of the Gold award, participants will be able to plan and confidently follow safe routes away from paths and tracks in any open countryside using advanced map and compass techniques and strategies
